The Curve is fashioned in a liquid silver finish with chrome highlights and subtly curving corners. Measuring 4.2 x 2.4 inches, the Curve is just as slim as the Pearl (0.6 inches) and weighs in at 3.9 ounces–just 0.7 ounces heavier than its predecessor. It features a bright 2.5-inch color TFT screen that provides 65,000 colors and a 320 x 240-pixel resolution, and it includes a light-sensing feature that automatically adjusts backlighting for indoor, outdoor and dark environments. Like the BlackBerry 8800, the Curve includes a trackball navigation system located on the top of the QWERTY keypad, and it also features an integrated spell checker with a customizable dictionary to help maintain accuracy while on the go. It has 64 MB of internal ROM memory, and is expandable using MicroSD memory cards. The battery provides up to 4 hours (240 minutes) of talk time and up to 17 days (408 hours) of standby time.
You can snap vivid photos (though no video) using the 2-megapixel camera on the back of the Curve, which also features a 5x digital zoom, built-in flash, self-portrait mirror and full screen viewfinder. It can capture images in up to three picture quality and size resolutions that can be shared instantly by email, MMS or BlackBerry Messenger, or even uploaded to your Flickr account with the Yahoo! Go service. Photos can also be immediately set as a unique caller ID or Home Screen image. You can edit photos and create albums within the Curve using the PhotoSuite application. Pictures can be cropped, rotated and straightened, and flaws can be fixed by removing redeye or changing the brightness, contrast, and saturation levels.
Listen to your favorite music and watch downloaded videos using the included stereo headset, or use an optional wireless headphone thanks to the Curve’s support for the Bluetooth stereo audio profile (A2DP/AVRCP). The Curve is compatible with a wide variety of file formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ audio and WMV, MPEG4 and H.263 video. Dedicated volume controls are conveniently located on the side of the handset. You can also subscribe to the AT&T Music service, which includes access to online subscription music content from eMusic, XM Satellite Radio and more.
With the Voice-Activated Dialing (VAD) feature, you can initiate a call just by telling the Curve who to call from your contact list–either via the integrated speakerphone or using an optional Bluetooth wireless headset. Other advanced phone features include advanced sound technology that cancels out background noise and echo, dedicated volume and mute keys, and the ability to customize the Curve with polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.
Though it doesn’t come with an integrated GPS receiver, you can add an optional Bluetooth-enabled receiver to take advantage of the BlackBerry Maps application. Check maps for fast turn-by-turn directions virtually anywhere–simply click on an address in your address book, type it or paste one in.
Staying Connected
With BlackBerry’s push email technology, your email will find you without having to initiate a connection. BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, notifying you as new email arrives. In addition to the text, you can also receive and view attachments in a wide range of popular file formats, including Microsoft Office, Corel WordPerfect, and Adobe PDF.
Browse the web with the integrated, full-featured browser, which quickly and efficiently displays HTML pages as well as enables you to set up RSS feeds to stay connected to up-to-the-minute news and blog posts. And keep up with your contacts using a variety of instant message (IM) networks, including the integrated Blackberry Messenger as well as downloadable clients for Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, and Lotus Sametime.
This quadband phone operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks and can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T’s EDGE network, with availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. It also offers AT&T’s Push to Talk (PTT) feature, which enables walkie talkie-style instant voice communication with other AT&T users–either one-on-one or with groups–and it allows you to convert the PTT call to a regular voice call if you need to have a longer discussion.
The Curve delivers all the corporate email and messaging capabilities you’ve come to expect. It’s supported on BlackBerry Internet Service, giving you access to up to 10 work or personal email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts), as well as BlackBerry Enterprise Server, enabling advanced security and IT administration within IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments.

When the Motorola RAZR V3 was launched last year, I think most everybody, including Motorola itself, was quite surprised by how popular the handset turned out to be, considering the asking price. Its slim profile and sleek silver colored metal body proved to be just too much of a temptation for the world, and people the world over jumped through hoops and over hurdles just to get one for their very own. Everybody was a movie star with one of these!
Black is beautiful.
Until, of course, Motorola gave 50 exclusive RAZR V3 BLK handsets to some real movie stars at the 77th Annual Academy Awards in February, 2005. All of a sudden, the silver RAZR lost some of its shine. But once again, it is time for the masses to rejoice. Motorola is making the RAZR BLK available to all.
Of course it isn’t just the color that makes the RAZR V3 BLK such a desirable handset. One reason that people love it so is its size. It weighs only 3.35oz (95g), which is pretty light for a phone that has a largely metal body. At 3.86″ x 2.17″ x .57″ (98mm x 55mm x 14.5mm) in size, it is actually thinner than most candy bar style phones on the market. It can be slipped perfectly into a shirt, suit, or pants pocket, as well as a purse, without being noticed.
There is so much more to the RAZR V3 BLK than its physical being, though. Certainly the primary purpose of any phone must be making phone calls, and in spite of its small stature, the RAZR V3 BLK managed a full 7 hours of talk time in our tests - a very respectable showing. A related bonus is the fact that you can charge the RAZR V3 BLK directly from your computer’s USB port with the same type of mini-USB cable that you probably already have for your digital camera. That’s one less power adapter to pack in the suitcase. Support for all 4 GSM frequency bands means that the RAZR will work in San Francisco and New York just as well as it will in Paris and London. The handset’s internal antenna also proved to be quite capable, offering up very good reception in weak signal areas.
Of course some compromises had to be made to get all of this functionality into such a small package. The keypad, for example, is a very thin metal unit that offers less tactile feedback than most, though it makes up for that somewhat by looking fantastic in the dark, thanks to its cool blue back light. While quite usable, it might take a bit of getting used to. No compromises were made with the main display, though: a nice 2.2″ 65k color TFT unit, with 176 x 220 pixel resolution. The external display is also color, though only a 4k CSTN type.
The Motorola RAZR V3 BLK is thin and definitely in.
The built-in VGA camera proved itself to be one of the better ones on the market, offering good contrast, color, and focus in most situations. The RAZR’s polyphonic sound system also works quite well, and even allows you to use MP3 files as ringtones. So if you have a few dollars to spare in your quest for looking like a movie star, Motorola has got just the thing you need. Luckily, the RAZR V3 BLK has the brains to back up the beauty.

Phone Features
Designed to be even sharper than before, the RAZR2 V8 shaves two millimeters from the original MOTORAZR. Its one-piece housing has no parting lines (meaning fewer chances of break points) and the cast aluminum hinge underwent more than 100,000 lab tests to ensure durability. Even the exterior camera lens is stronger, as it is made with chemically hardened glass. Despite its slimmer profile, the RAZR2 V8 offers enhanced dual screens that make the phone seem larger. The 2.2-inch internal screen offers twice the resolution of the original MOTORAZR while the 2-inch external screen is great for checking caller photo ID, easily reading incoming text messages, and controlling music playback through onscreen controls. Upgraded Interface: With the redesigned, more intelligent interface, you’ll be able to search for contacts faster and avoid duplicate entries for the same person while allowing contacts to have multiple numbers. The customizable main menu means you’re never more than 2 to 3 clicks away from your favorite applications. And text messaging is easier, with the V8 recognizing what type of message you are sending.
CrystalTalk Technology: This innovative feature automatically accounts for background noise during a call and adjusts the audio quality based on ambient noise conditions to provide the optimal conversational experience. CrystalTalk also reduces the volume of the background noise picked up by the microphone during a call, making it possible to be more easily heard over the phone while in a noisy environment.
Talk to Me: Originally designed to address the needs of those with vision impairment, the RAZR2 V8 is able to read the phone’s interactive menus, contacts, messages and more aloud–adding convenience to your on-the-go lifestyle. Before my review i must say that if you’re someone who is looking for a basic cell phone or someone who is technologically intimidated then this is definately not the phone for you. There are far more simple phones to use one the market right now. Also it should be said that the voyager is aptly titled “cell phone plus…” because of all the extra features included with it. So if your looking to buy a phone to just make phone calls on or perhaps the occasional text buying this phone would be like buying a $10,000 lawnmower to mow a tiny lawn. All that being said, I’m the other type of person, A glutton for new technology, and the LG Voyager manages to fill my appetite and then some. For anyone who doesn’t already know this phone was created to compete with the almighty IPhone and speaking objectivly i can say that i has everything the IPhone has with a cherry on top. OK, You’ve got 2 screens. The front screen has an intuitive touch interface and a simple shortcut menu. Its alot of fun, takes about a 10 minute learning curve to get used to and it’s where you’ll be spending most of your time. Then fold open your phone and you’ve got a second, horizontal screen and a qwerty keyboard,a feature not present on the IPhone, which makes text messageing a whole lot more convenient. A plus for music lovers, you can port all your mp3s over to your voyager and listen on the go(yes just like the IPhone). But instead of an internal memory like the IPhone has the majority of it’s memory stored on micro sd cards. The minus side to this is you have to shell out more money for the memory card. The phone also includes a 2.0 megapixel camera. Just turn your phone sideways and start taking pictures. The quality, while being not as good as most digital cameras on the market, is definatly a big step up from the grainy, throw-in camera on most cells. A flash feature woulda been nice though. Then you can take your pics and send them via pix message, a feature inexplicitly missing from Apple’s product. You can surf the wed on the Voyager but unlike the IPhone it’s not WiFI capable so you’ll have to shell out the dough to verizon to use this service. You can even watch TV on it. Verizon offers packages at a fairly affordable price. There are plenty of other features on the Voyager but i think i went on long enough so I’ll leave it like this. I have plenty of electronic devices but right now it’s #1 on my favorites list. In my humble opinion it’s the best(yes the best)all-in-1 device on the market. IPhone Shhm-IPhone
